On 24th June 2006, Addington Fire Station in South
West London held an excellent open day. Various fire appliances from past and present
attended, along with the London Air Ambulance HEMS team. This page shows a selection of
photos from the event. Many thanks go to Crew Manager Nigel Patton for organising this
excellent open day.

During the open day, Addington's Mercedes Atego pump was on standby, and is seen here
in front of the station.

Addington's other DPL, the Volvo pump ladder, was off the run for display. It is seen
here in the stations rear yard.

The Fire Rescue Unit from Croydon was also at the show for the Road Traffic Accident
demonstration.

The final LFB appliance here was this Volvo / Saxon Hydraulic Platform from Wimbledon.
Wimbledon's aerial appliance is usually an ALP, but the three Magirus ALPs are currently
away for modifications and have been temporarily replaced with HPs.

In addition to the LFB appliances, three preserved fire engines were also on show. This
is ex-DPL781 (A781 TYO), a Dennis SS which served at Soho fire station for 12 years.

The second preserved appliance is this ex-London Dennis F108 pump escape. This engine
spent ten years at Addington fire station.

The final preserved appliance was this ex-East Sussex LAP 476.

The London HEMS team (Helicopter Emergency Medical Service) was also
present, and showed off their excellent Subaru Impreza response car.
