| The Merseyside F&R Training and Development Academy is located next to N3 Croxteth fire station. It is here that all of Merseyside's firefighters are trained. There are a number of training areas, with mock-up houses for fighting house fires, areas for dealing with RTAs, training areas for putting out various types of fires, large gas cylinders for training on how to tackle industrial fires and more. There are many varied appliances based here, both normal Merseyside engines and government-supplied New Dimension vehicles. Operational vehicles from other Merseyside stations can also often be seen here. | ||

This brand new Scania P94D-260 is allocated to the training centre. The appliance is allocated fleetnumber 1349, and is registered DK55 HND. It is seen here basking in the spring sunlight. | |

Another new Scania from the same batch is 1346 (DK55 HNA). Note the small CCTV camera that can be seen in the centre of the dashboard, now a standard fitment to Merseyside fire vehicles. | |

This Saxon bodied Volvo FL6.14 was purchased by the Merseyside Fire Service for evaluation. It was formerly allocated to Old Swan fire station, but is now based at the Croxteth TDA. It has the fleet number 1312 and is registered P813 PCA. | |

This Dennis SS with Excalibur body is 1283 (K851 NEM). It is used for training. | |

Another Dennis SS here is 1302 (M771 WKC). | |

This is another Dennis SS, but this time with Mountain Range bodywork. This vehicle has fleet number 1260 and is registered G401 EKA. | |

This is a Bobcat Robot vehicle, registered DG02 WFV. It is used at the training centre for moving round equipment. | |

Finally, there are four MAN TG-A New Dimension HDCs based at the Croxteth training centre. First, here is PM154 (WX54 VSU). It is carrying pod USAR5 003. This is a flatbed pod which carries a large amount of timber for rescue work. | |
